Same Day Care

At Aspen Medical Care, we strive to provide timely care. In both our Basalt and Aspen offices, we provide same-day appointments for sudden exacerbations of chronic issues or new, acute issues. Same-day appointments may not be with your primary provider here at Aspen Medical Care, but our collaborative approach allows every provider to provide quality care to every patient.

A scheduled, same-day appointment can address many concerns. The only limitation on what we can provide is time. On a slower, off-season day, we may be able to provide same-day appointments for well-child care, annual physicals, medication management and lab review. During busier times of the year, our ability to provide same-day, well-child care and annual physicals is much more limited.

Sometimes, even same-day appointments are unavailable. No worries! We offer patients the opportunity to walk into either office to address acute issues! Walk-ins are always welcome!*Walk-in hours are between 8 – 3:30p. You must arrive before 3:00 to be seen as a walk-in patient. By 2:30 if you are a Medicare patient.

During a walk-in visit, we can address issues like cold and flu symptoms, cough, nasal congestion, vomiting, diarrhea, new abdominal pain, headaches, ankle sprains, suspected fractures, falls, minor head trauma, lacerations, sprains and other new illnesses or problems. During your visit, we will address your acute concern. Our advice will be evidence-based and personalized. We may prescribe appropriate medication, repair minor lacerations, and, in the Aspen office only, perform x-rays on adults as needed. If an x-ray is performed, we can provide a digital copy of your radiographs to take with you before you leave the clinic.

In Aspen, our Saturday morning clinic is reserved exclusively for walk-in appointments.**Saturday clinic hours are between 8a – 12p. You must arrive before 11:30a to be seen on Saturdays.Aspen Office only We are happy to address you or your child’s sudden illness or injury during Saturday clinic, so that you can enjoy your weekend as much as possible.

If you’re unsure if a walk-in appointment is appropriate for your concern, please call the office before your arrival for guidance! If you are unable to call, you can come to the office and we will guide you from there.

There are some appointment types that should always be scheduled.  These include well-child checks, annual physicals, medication management visits, laboratory or test result discussions, travel consultations, and other visits regarding non-acute issues.  These visits are often lengthy and require the protected time of a scheduled appointment to be properly addressed.
